During college days I used to be in a state of confusion whether to portray art work in some stereotype form or established format ;as I could not imagine that my boundless imagination and energies could be retrained in a predefined frame .I always felt that the natural elements trees ,rivers,fruits ,birds etc in arural setting would excite me more. The wall of a village house ,the soil, the backyard ,the uneven texture ,the rural setting captured the essence of my expression.Essence of work should be captured whether it be expressed through any medium.
What attracts one most in my work is its textural part. Emotive images weaved in, around color areas, through texture, also have a web of lines, and thus become more enchanting and engrossing.
The images have an earthiness and a certain resemblance, with the green of the grass or with various tones of dry leaves or with a hole in the tree ,where birds set up their nests. Such likes; intently draw us towards themselves, to give us an .The intense feel of the nature and its secretive ways of conveying to us certain essential norms of understanding things.
The earth, the water, the fire the air & the Space ether, these five basic elements are expressed & engraved with my moods. I have dreamed of a better world in each of my paintings. This combination of colors & shapes not only gives me eternal happiness, but also realizes everyone with the essence of life.
The use of various hues in image building, at times in monochromatic manner, is soothing and is able to the viewer instantly in its fold. One can rejoice in it and can look at a certain image in the light of the color, density and tonal variations, only to find one self in a dialogue with all the elements employed.
Over the years, I have uniquely developed my pictorial language in mixed media , where the paper pulp and other ingredients, some organic, have their own presence ,overtly and subtly, signaling many moods and emotions. In this context, the textural quality of my worksis also to be celebrated ,as the textures thus created are not only part of a certain technique, but also signify in themselves forms and intent of a rare kind ,they merge with the images andyet stand apart .With these works in the show mounted here, has come a long way indeed ,offering a sense of maturity, integrity and dedication to my creative urges, and seemsto be always looking forward in a quest of newer expressions.
